Herpes

Is there any way to kill the herpes virus after oral sex has occurred from infected person to uninfected...?

person. Like a window of opportunity to destroy herpes medically before actually contracting it.

  1. No. There's no windows period on these kind of diseases.
  2. nope, cant kill it. Once you have it you have it for life, it just remains dormant or becomes active at different stages throughout life.
  3. Herpes is a virus, and there is no way to kill it (unlike syphilis or chlamydia which are caused by bacteria and can be killed by antibiotics). However, you will not automatically contract Herpes from an infected person, especially if they do not have an outbreak of sores. If you have contracted the Herpes Virus, a medication called Valtrex can help suppress symptoms (i.e. outbreaks of sores), however, you will still always carry the Herpes Virus and have the potential to give it to others.
  4. No... although since the person with oral herpes is infectious only about 6% of the time when they have no symptoms, 18% altogether, the chances are good that they are not infectious at the time. They are currently developing a lube/cream to protect against the herpes virus and prevent a partner getting it, but it isn't on the market yet so I don't suppose that is much use :-) p's don't go and scrub yourself as herpes enters through microscopic abrasions.
  5. Once transmission occurs all you can do is wait and treat the symptoms once the initial outbreak happens. However, just because the person has HSV doesn't mean that transmission actually occurred. If they were not close or in the middle of an outbreak you may not have contracted the virus. Now it's a wait and see game. Good Luck!
