What is my chances of getting Herpes one time with unprotected sex. My GF and I have been fighting about this.
I had sex with my new GF about 10 times and we had a condom everytime, but one day we had a condom break I did not know until I pulled out. About a week later, she had her period. Days later she had some itching. She went to her doctor for a check up on all std's including HIV. She was negative, except for Herpes. She said the doc did not know which type, but she was positive. We do not know who gave it to who. She only had one break out and alleges she had never had a BF for 9 years since she has a daughter. I contacted my previous GF and she said she tested negative for everything. At this point, I am freaking out just like everyone else. We all have seen those horrible Herpes pictures. What I need to know specifically is what are my chances as a man getting Herpes from a woman that has never had a break out, she did not have any break outs and it was one time unprotected. I show no signs. I am still getting an exam next week. But I need peace of mind. Share those valuable stories!

- It only takes 1 time.
- all what you need is to have sex ONCE with an infected person.
- It's that one time that the condom breaks and all hell breaks loose...so to speak...Good luck
- very high since she can never be certain of an internal outbreak. There are not always symptoms. Tell her sorry but no.
- You may not get it. But you could !!
- A condom does NOT protect against herpes. It is a contact (skin to skin) disease.
- LITTLEONE5 IS RIGHT. REMEMBER THERE OUR OTHER DISEASES & ISSUES ABOUT THIS.
- It only takes on time but BUT BUT, Ive got tested for STD's and came up negative about a month ago. A week later some lady with cold sores came into my store and the next day I had one. Cold sores are a form of herpes. ORAL herpes to be precise. If I were to go down on my boyfriend when I have a break out of coldsores, more than likely he will get genital herpes. So it is possible that you didn't get it from sex except for oral. So thats my story of how I got "HERPES"
- 2 of every 5 people has herpes......you can catch it even with a condom, warts too are not prevented by condoms...............some epolpe have it and NEVER break out they just spread it..............some people never spread it................it is a virus and will do whatever it wants whenever it wants to whomever it wants and there is nothing you can do to stop it besides don't have sex ever. 2 out of every 5 is a high percentage so just deal with it buddy everybod has it
- It only takes one time.. and you can get herpes from any contact not just intercourse.
- there are 2 types of herpes, one of which 90% of people have (causing cold sores.) the other type is the bad kind. there is no way the "doctor" would not know which type of herpes she has. you both need to go to a clinic and get tested together and talk to a real doctor. and yes, you can get herpes from having sex only one time.
- she should get retested. maybe her results are in error? also you should get tested.
- Herpes is probably the most comment STD. The thing about herpes is that it is a virus, and remains in your body regardless of treatment. There is no cure. Medication (like Valtrex) only serves as a way to make the outbreak go away, you can never get rid of the virus itself. Like any virus it can go dormant, and you might not have a break out for a very long time, of course herpes can still be transferred regardless of an outbreak. Because the virus is in your bloodstream and bodily fluids. There are varying kinds of herpes and they can interact. Cold sores/genital sores etc. There doesn't seem to be any difference between men and women as far as viral transfer. Good luck...
- Unfortunately, herpes can be contacted many ways. There are varying types of the virus, from cold sores, to canker sores to genital area. A person with a cold sore to touch the site and transfer it very easily from his/her self to a counter top to your hand..from your hand to your mouth or your genitals. It can be transferred with the same ease as a common cold. Practice good hygiene.
- You can get oral herpes on your genitals if you let a person with oral herpes give you oral sex. It didn't have to be intercourse. You could have given it to her via oral sex if you have oral herpes, or via intercourse if someone who had oral herpes gave you a bj. Do you get cold sores? You'd better get fully checked if so. I have a friend who has this problem. She let a guy who'd kissed and had sex with a chick who had oral herpes have oral sex with her. She tells me it's no fun at all, and she can transmit it to anyone she has sex with, so she always has to use a condom with her husband now.
- everybody DOESN"T HAVE it and it should make you think about the company you keep and stop thinking with your pecker, peckerhead because for a few minutes of pleasure you'll spend the rest of your life with big ol' ugly open sores that bleed and scab over and then you'll think, 'hey, this is the gift that keeps on giving' and you'll think about your fat old girlfriend with six kids who still has pimples at age 50 and you won't believe that you actually did that and you'll be sitting in your kitchen all alone on christmas day eating a balony sandwich with green olives in the meat thinking, 'hey this looks just like my herpes' and then someone will mispronounce your disease one day and you think you heard 'hair piece' and you'll reach up and touch your noggin to see if your hair fell out which happens to some people with the virus but it hasen't been proven yet so keep your oscar myer in your pants.
- All it takes is one time with an infected person.
- 100%
- You may not get it but you may have it in your blood and some day when you immune system will go down it may show up or nerve. I was in your situation long time ago...I know how you feel. you don't need to be afraid. After that day my girlfriend didn't have any sign that she has Herpes. And me it has never showed any sign at all. Next time try not to forget you have condom when you are having sex emmm
- wow... well good luck, and Im sorry you had to find out that way. And most likely you do have it also.
