  1. Herpes is spread by touching, kissing, and sexual contact, including vaginal, anal, and oral sex. It can be passed from one partner to another and from one part of the body to another. Herpes is not spread by casual contact with toilet seats, towels, clothes, or similar objects.
  2. If he HIV 1and 2 are same It will be called as oral herpes when it affects mouth and genital herpes when it affects genitals and other parts. If he has oral herpes then through kiss it will be transmitted. If he has genital herpes it will be transmitted through sexual intercourse Check http://www.ayurhelp.com/herpes.htm http://www.ayurhelp.com/articles/DoIhaveHerpes.htm http://www.ayurhelp.com
  3. Any type of skin to skin contact, mouth to genitals, genitals to mouth, mouth to mouth, can spread the herpes virus. If he has it there is a very good chance he has already infected you even if you haven't had intercourse. Oral sex is still sex. You can definitely have the herpes virus and not be showing any symptoms. http://www.aboutgenitalherpes.com/transmitting-herpes.htm
  4. There are three strans or rather complexes of herpes. They are A; B; C; . To answer your question yes, you can have herpes and NEVER have a sign or as it is called an out break. Many people whom are carries never show any signs or symptoms of the disease. There is no cure for herpes. depending on the complex your boyfriend has depends on the way it may be transferred. Oral sex is no safety net! With women if contracted it can be passed on to off spring. during birth if you are active, it can blind, or cause deafness or many other problems for the newborn child. Herpes is no joke especially to a newborn. If you are active when you are in labor a forced C section should be performed if your Dr. is aware and intelligent. If the Dr does not say anything YOU NEED TO! It may be embarrassing but hey this is going to be your baby. Whoa I kind of went off on a tangent there didn't I. Sorry may be more than you needed to know. Anyway hope I have helped in some form??
  5. If you have had oral sex with him, you could get herpes in your mouth. Even if he is not having an outbreak or no visible signs/symptoms. People who have herpes virally shed the virus. Similiar to the normal shedding of dead skin cells. There are no signs that someone is v. shedding. So if you give oral to someone with herpes, you can get herpes in your mouth, lips or throat. Even a condom will not totally protect you from getting herpes while having intercourse also you should note. The virus can be anywhere in the genital area. Also if he has cold sores (hsv1) and gives you oral sex, you will get hsv1 in your genital area. Many people who have genital herpes have no or very little symptoms, however, if you do get it and are unlucky enough to get the outbreaks, well, they hurt. You can take meds for outbreaks, but there is no cure. It's forever.
  6. Yes, it is possible to have herpes (either cold sores or genital herpes) and not show any signs or symptoms of the virus. It's estimated about 75 - 80% of the WORLD has cold sores about about 25% of the world has genital herpes. The herpes virus is VERY common. There are also 8 different kinds of the herpes simplex virus (I don't know where the guy got types A, B, and C, but that's wrong!) Herpes simplex virus 1 (HSV1) usually causes cold sores, but it can also cause genital herpes. Herpes simplex virus 2 (HSV2) is usually responsible for genital herpes, but can also cause cold sores. Herpes simplex virus 3 (HSV3) is responsible for shingles and the chickenpox. Herpes simplex virus 4 - 8 can cause different illnesses or diseases, but they are not as common as types 1, 2, and 3. If your boyfriend has cold sores and gave you oral sex, then it could cause you to develop genital herpes. Herpes can be spread from the mouth to the genital area and vice versa by oral sex. Good luck!
  7. The most likely scenario is that he has the cold sore type. Actually if it is the cold sore type you can catch genital herpes through him giving you oral sex if you do not get cold sores yourself, even when he has no symptoms. This is what happened to me. If you have had no signs or symptoms I would say you are ok so far. You can have herpes with no symptoms, but you have not had sex with him, and because of this if he has genital herpes you could not have contracted genital herpes from him, since that would require your genitals to have contact with his genitals. Herpes is a localised rather than a systemic infection. The only way you could have contracted genital herpes is if he has the cold sore type on his mouth and he gave you oral sex. If you get cold sores yourself the chances of this happening are virtually nil, 60% of young people are infected with the virus so it isn't a big deal and there is a good chance you have it, but if you don't you need to be very careful about receiving oral sex off anyone, particularly anyone who has a history of cold sores. Someone with cold sores is infectious about 18% of the time including times when they have no symptoms. Most people infected with the virus don't know that they have it and are symptomless, as your boyfriend probably is. If you yourself were to test negative for both the herpes simplex viruses, the chances of you getting genital herpes are as high through receiving oral sex with someone who has cold sores as from having unprotected intercourse with someone who has genital herpes. I knew my boyfriend had cold sores, knew that they could be transferred to my genitals through oral sex and cause genital herpes, but I still let him give me oral. Although we had been together for several years he had only given me oral sex a handful of times in those years because we were aware of the risk, but I thought because he had absolutely no symptoms at the time he gave me oral that I was safe. It isn't bad physically but I find the stigma hard to deal with. If I had known how high the risk was, given I'm not that keen on oral anyway, I think I would have avoided oral sex.
  8. Yes you can have herpes with no symptoms, in fact it is not uncommon for people to pass the virus on and be completely oblivious to the fact that they have the virus to begin with because they have little or no recognizable symptoms. The other thing to note is that you can catch genital herpes from someone performing oral sex on you. Best of luck. Harmony www.harmonyonline.com.au
  9. When HSV testing is done on an individual, HSV1/2 IgG and IgM are completed. So when the results come back it is broken down into type one and type two. If it came back positive, the office where the test was ran would know which one it is. I find it hard to believe that they don't know, they have to report any positives to the CDC so they have to know. Somebody is lying to you. I work in a hospital lab and I am not aware of any HSV tests that do not distinguish between the two and only show a positive and negative. All HSV are titer results (a number). To answer your question, Yes it is possible to contract HSV even if it is type one. However, if he has no symptoms right know it is very unlikely. I would wait for the other results to come back before making any decisions regarding sexual intercourse or oral at this point.
