Can someone have the herpes virus and never know?
if someone never had an outbreak of herpes before but has been in sexual contact with someone who had the virus over a year ago. could they have caught it but not known?

- 80 % of people with herpes do not know they have it. Transmittion is not authomatic, the fact they you had contact does not mean you have it now. But go get checked.
- 1 in 4 people have genital Herpes, but 90% of the people who have it don't know they have it. It isn't included on the full STD screening so most people have never been tested for it. I have never had an outbreak and the only way I know I have Herpes is that I took the blood test and came back positive.
