One More herpes question..........?
ok so i know i have genital herpes but does that mean that when i have no symptoms of it i can touch the infected area and then touch somewhere else on my body like my leg.. and that place will then get herpes?? or can i only get it around my genitals because i've heard of cases where people have occipital herpes in their eye (i saw a picture it was gross) so please just let me know how contagious is herpes to the other parts of the body once you already have it around your genitals?

- Yes. It is possible to self infect - although you are much less likely to infect yourself then someone else (because you already have partial immunity to your own strain of herpes.) In addition to oral and genital herpes, there are also some much-less-common forms of herpes associated with the eye and the fingers, as you have discovered. But these are rare compared with genital or oral herpes. Herpes infections in other places (like your foot) are pretty much unheard of. The only way that I know that people get herpes on their fingers is if they are dental professionals who have their fingers in people's mouths all day, or if they bite their fingernails. So don't touch your eyes or your mouth after you've had your hand in your underwear (good advice with or without herpes), and wash your hands after you masterbate. Don't get too worried about self-infecting. Just remember to wash your hands. Good question.
- Awww.. sorry to hear it was positive. I also have herpes in my eye from sharing make-up with someone with a cold sore on their lip....and yes, it's pretty gross. Just be concious of all "wet areas" of your body & other people's bodies....eyes, nose, mouth, genitals etc. Sharing towels, washcloths and things like that should be avoided when you see sores
