Herpes

Herpes or no? Best way to find out info?

Almost a month ago i recieved oral sex from a man, and maybe 1-2 days later a bump appeared on my lower shaft. i didnt immediately worry cause during the act, the person was rubbing my shaft and they were wearing a ring and it made me sore, so i thought it could have come from that. The bump didnt go away & i began to worry. And it took the shape of a pimple. About a week ago i went to a clinic and it checked out. The bump went down in size in the time and the doctor didnt think it was herpes just cause of the way it looked. But she also told me it was too soon to test and to come back in 3 months to get a HIV and Herpes test. Its been about 20 days and the bump still looks the same. No pain or itching (well maybe if im drying myself off with a towel too rough). I think the bump may have burst at one point but came back. What else should i do? Does it really take so long to diagnosis? I also looked at herpes pictures and this doesnt look like it, what else could it be?

  1. dude herpes sores dont stay like that for long a period of time ive heard of the initial outbreaks lasting a month or more, but they arent usually just bumps, theyre SORES!!! get a herpes select test after 3 months...itll tell u if ur positive or negative...culture tests are also accurate so try going in when u have an attack. HIV= u can always take a rapid test which is accurate...after three months..if ur negative at 1 month, u have a high chance ull be negative at three my guess is its a pimple...maybe follicotus or a wart
  2. My pics didn't look like herpes either, but it was. I don't think yours is because herpes bumps are painful and they go away then comeback. It could be something else though. Get tested for the other STD's because if it's still there, that's just waaay to long.
  3. Someone who has been exposed to the genital herpes virus may not be aware of the infection and may never have an outbreak of sores. However, if a person does have an outbreak, the symptoms can cause significant discomfort. Someone with genital herpes may first notice itching or pain, followed by sores that appear a few hours to a few days later. The sores, which may appear on the vagina, penis, scrotum, buttocks, or anus, start out as red bumps that soon turn into red, watery blisters. The sores may make it very painful to urinate. The sores may open up, ooze fluid or bleed, and then heal within the next 2 to 4 weeks. The entire genital area may feel very tender or painful, and the person may have flu-like symptoms including fever, headache, and swollen lymph nodes. If someone has an outbreak in the future, it will tend to be less severe and shorter in duration, with the sores healing in about 10 days
  4. best way is to get your blood tested...or I believe that you may have a condition called Hidradenitis Supprativa. It is re-occurring boils/ cysts/abscesses that are often misdiagnosed as ingrown hairs, herpes, being unclean or over weight and folliculitis. This is a newly diagnosed skin condition , but there is a lot of info out there if you are looking. (*All links please COPY and PASTE into search or address bar. When I copy and paste my answer I have gotten complaints that the links don’t work, had to put some spaces between so it wouldn’t dissapear) Here is a link : en .wikipedia.org/ wiki /Hidradenitis_suppurativa or the HS_USA page is .. hs-foundation.org If this sounds like it might be you, READ it, PRINT it out, and TAKE it to your DOC. It’s better to try to start treatment soon, it can spread over the body if left untreated. These boils can become quite large and painful. Sometimes even lasting for weeks or months , do not attempt to POP them they can then tunnel under your skin and spread all over the body. Most common areas are armpits, groin, bikini line, inner legs, and intimate places and basically anywhere that sweats and rubs against clothing. Stress is a big inducer. There is a support group at MSN : groups.msn.com/ HidradenitisSupportClub Here is a few links that I thought it were interesting : mayoclinic.com/health/hidradenitis-sup... DS00818 aocd.org/skin/dermatologic_diseases/ hidradenitis_suppu.html I am open for questions! I have had this for 8 years, I was misdiagnosed for a LONG time, and it was very embarrassing, painful and scary. I am just trying to help out so you don’t have to wait as long as I did. Currently I have 5, 2 next to each other on my right inner groin. 2 in my upper HAIR area, and 1 med sized on my butt on the panty line, and they do come every week or so. I find that certain foods, not having a regular showering regimen, wearing clothing that irritates the area.. And STRESS usually is a precursor to getting one. and YES thongs and TIGHT jeans will definately irratate the area... when I have some I can only wear slacks or strechy pants.... ughhhhhhhhhhh!! I also prefer to use NEXCARE bandages.. There are 2 kinds I like for comfort and stay put reasons.. The first is like a clear band aid.... soft on the edges with a small area of bandage... helps with those buggers when they are on bikini line.. Usually stay for me.. Or occasionally on my inner thigh for those I like the foamy sponge like ones that are beige in color.. I think they are 3M.
