I am a guy who sometimes gets cold sores (herpes virus), if my gf gives me a B***job..?
will she get contract the herpes (in her mouth) that i am assuming i have a strand of since i get cold sores

- She'll get them if she even kisses you. I'm not sure about the BJ but I know that saliva, and any coldsores you have are highly contagious.
- It doesn't mater which type of herpes you have the virus can be contacted and spread to the either site - but only when they are active. No lit kissing and BJing when they are active.
- Cold sores ( herpes simplex 1 ) are only contagious when they are weeping so becareful that the secreted fluid doesn't transfer to your partner. She could contract genital herpes if oral sex is performed on her at that time.
- justwonder is mostly right but not completely (unless you define active as including non-visible viral shedding). There is a shedding period which is non-visible. You can be infected by type 2 herpes with no signs, even if being treated, because the virus is highly active in this cycle. Anyone who has genital herpes (at any site) is probably educated by their doctor as to their cycle. And yes justwonder is also right on the cross-infection. You can get genital herpes on your face. OMG IS IT NASTY! Use protection. That's why prostitutes require condoms for BJs, btw. Those that don't are mad, mad, mad.
- Since you have cold sores she can contract cold sores from you by kissing you or sharing something with you like a drink. If she does contract cold sores from you, then it's possible for her to spread it to your genital area if she preforms oral sex on you. Both herpes simplex virus 1 and 2 are responsible for cold sores and genital herpes. Cold sores however, are usually caused by herpes simplex virus 1, while genital herpes are usually caused by herpes simplex virus 2. Cold sores can be spread to the genital area causing genital herpes and vice versa. Good luck and be safe!
